In order to increase Alexa ranking, I spent about three weeks combing the web to find tips, secrets, and proven strategies to improve my Alexa ranking. Unfortunately, many sites offering advice did not even have a high rank itself. Finally I found a number of sites ranked in the top 100,000 the same all apply "Alexa techniques" to improve their ranking. I've started applying these techniques and has improved my Alexa ranking of 250,000 spots in just one week.
Here's what you need to know. Basis for many of these techniques is the fact that Alexa ranking is based reach and page views. But that is only counting the people who visit your site and download the Alexa toolbar is. Anyone can download a free toolbar that automatically added to your browser and to track the sites you visit. Increase in traffic from people who do not have the Alexa toolbar installed will not help your Alexa ranking.

2. Use Alexa redirection whenever you can. No matter when or where you provide a link to your website, be sure to use the equivalent Alexa redirect URL. For example, when providing a link to my website, I use http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?marketingscoop.com. If you copy this URL into your browser, it will take you to the MarketingScoop.com. To use this technique, simply change the name of my website (marketingscoop) with you.
3. Download the Alexa rankings, traffic history graph, info links, and other traffic counter to a website page that receives the most traffic. For example, at the bottom of my driveway http://www.sadiman.blogspot.com, I have added Alexa ranking box. You can do the same for your own site by visiting Klik Here you will realize that I have not added the traffic history graph. This is because it will not look right in my yard and because Alexa only provides a detailed history of the top 100,000 sites. So if you're not in the top 100,000, site stats will not be available.
4. Taking out cheap ads on search directory ExactSeek only a few dollars per month on search engine results ExactSeek.com directly correlated with the Alexa ranking. You will see that if a website is highly ranked on ExactSeek, chances are that it will be ranked in Alexa.
5. Get listed on search engines as much as possible by placing the list on DMOZ for free. This is the largest human-edited directory on the web and co-branded among hundreds of thousands of sites. Be patient though, often takes up to 5 months before you see your website listed after delivery. Although it takes longer than necessary, you have little say in this case because so many are used on the Internet.
Simple Alexa strategies are easy to implement and will make a big difference in your Alexa ranking. Ultimately you want visitors to do more than visiting your yard, you want them to interact with your site. Be sure to optimize your home page for SEO purposes, ease of use, and interaction. Creating a positive user experience will get visitors to return again and again.
